F*** Off Critics...Brad's suggested title for this post
For weeks I have debated on whether to write this blog post, which means I should jot down my thoughts so the topic drops from my mind.

Blog readers are familiar with my newsfeed, which I offer as a free "service" because a flow of information is essential to the health of a movement. The news items are pulled from a variety of sources, from FOX News to Politico to more neutral voices, and, yes, libertarian ones. I don't much care where information or commentary comes from as long as it seems accurate and interesting. Some people object, however, to referencing the "wrong" sources. Mises Institute and Zero Hedge have been accused of racism, for example. I have been accused of racism for including them in the feed. Indeed, Brad was recently included in that smear...presumably because only a racist would marry a racist.

My main response to such self-righteous sanctimony is to eliminate the critic from my life. A person who tells me what to read, how to think, what to say, or how to feel isn't someone I willingly tolerate. For his own motives, he is reaching into my soul and trying to adjust it according to his preferences. I am open to argument and questions on just about every belief I hold, including the propriety of seeking information from every and any source there is. But this openness slams shut when cheap smears are tossed about or when I am told not to read something, not to judge for myself. It is especially offensive when I am supposed to bow to the demand or be considered a racist or a "fill in the smear."

So here's what will happen. I will read everything from Marx to Rothbard, from comic books to the Wall St. Journal. I will associate with whomever I choose and not apologize for jacuzzing with the "devil" himself, should that experience ever appeal to me. I will publish in any periodical that does not edit my material. If someone objects, then he or she can make an unimpaired egress from my life. No one tampers with my soul.

Women: Reject Victimhood, Embrace Your Individualism
My latest article has appeared at the Libertarian Institute: Women: Reject Victimhood, Embrace Your Individualism. Excerpt: As a teenager I lived on the streets for as short a period as I could manage. This one experience brought more violence into my life than I care to remember, let alone describe, but it did not define me. I mention the experience for one reason; it is not ignorance or a lack of empathy that makes me flatly state that sexual violence against women has declined over time. Almost everything is better for North American women now than it was decades ago. Yet North America is widely decried as a “rape culture,” and the condemnation is passionate to the point of sounding almost religious.

If you value this site, please consider donating. I maintain it as a service to the movement because few things are as important to building a community as the flow of information and camaraderie; that's one of the first things I learned from my reading of Gandhi. Too often, I need to turn my hand to work that returns a different profit, however. Donations make these occasions fewer. There are bitcoin and bitcoin cash buttons to one side; there is a paypal button that also accepts cash. My email address for other methods of donation is wendyATwendymcelroyDOTcom. Thank you.
